Greetings! My name is Shanley Ashcraft and I am very excited to join PCS as a DBT therapist. I recently moved back to Toledo after a decade away and have thoroughly enjoyed getting reacquainted with the area. After completing High School at Perrysburg, I attended the University of Toledo (Go Rockets!) where I obtained both my BSW (2012) and MSW (2013) degrees.
I was accepted into the Peace Corps in 2013, packed 2 bags, and moved to Botswana for 3 years doing work related to HIV treatment and eradication. In 2016, I made the tough choice to move back to America and work toward my LISW as a school-based therapist in Cincinnati, OH. Here, I got to explore different therapy approaches and really found a love for DBT and Trauma treatment.
Working as a school-based therapist during COVID had its challenges and ultimately led to my decision to pivot into an administrative role with a private health company in 2021. Here, I have a unique opportunity to continue using my independent license as I research, develop, and host CE training opportunities for licensed staff. I am still currently working in this role, full-time, and am excited to get back into practice with PCS. I’ve missed therapy more than I anticipated – It truly is a calling.

Client-Centered Care, Evidence-Based Results
Our philosophy at PCS is rooted in three core principles: client-centered care, evidence-based therapies, and integrated treatment plans. We believe that mental health care should be personalized to each individual and grounded in techniques that have been proven effective through research.
PCS uses therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) because these approaches have consistently demonstrated results in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health conditions.
We understand that mental health is complex and requires a comprehensive approach. Our therapists collaborate with psychiatric providers to ensure that therapy and medication work hand-in-hand to support your overall well-being.
We believe in fostering a compassionate and collaborative environment where people feel empowered to take an active role in their journey toward wellness. By combining clinical expertise with empathy, we aim to create meaningful, lasting change for the people and families we serve.
Proven Results You Can Trust
At PCS, we measure success by the progress our clients make toward their goals. Here are some of our key outcomes:
of clients report significant reductions in anxiety symptoms within six weeks of starting therapy.
of couples in therapy report stronger communication and deeper emotional connection after just four sessions.
of clients undergoing trauma therapy (including EMDR) report an improvement in their ability to manage and cope with traumatic memories.
